I entered college in the fall of 2019.

When I arrived at UNC Charlotte, the campus was still reeling from a school shooting that had occurred just months earlier, claiming the lives of two students. The atmosphere was subdued—few people lingered around campus, even before the COVID-19 pandemic began to reshape the world just six months into my college experience. Over time, it became clear to me that no college experience—regardless of place, era, or global events—can truly be considered "normal" or entirely unique. I spent those four years documenting my life on various 35mm film cameras, focusing mostly on my friends and our activities, both during and outside of quarantine. The photos I cherish most are the ones that feel timeless—images that could have been taken at any college, in any decade. Nostalgia, after all, is a shared experience.
